The world as observed by a grumpy Retired Submariner who's opinion grows more calcified each day.

It's a small world
Well, Today I found out that it's a small world after all. And even smaller for those of us who wear dolphins. I had the pleasure of meeting Joel from The Stupid Shall be Punished. He attended the Change of Command to usher in our new skipper. The Change of Command is; to those of us who have done this for a while a significant event of how one man can during the act of reading a few words from Bupers, turning to his counterpart and saying "I relieve you sir" can gain so much responsibility. I still don't envy the burden of command from those who take it. The stateroom to yourself and the a parking spot really don't measure up to the amount of responibilty and burden they take upon themselves when the duty of Commanding Officer.
