Mother of all traffic jams

It's 2300HST and this is a few shots from the trafffic cam's on island for the west side effected by the closure of the H 1 freeway. Wow. This is the worst traffic jam I have ever seen. This all started at 1300 this afternoon .

Gridlock in Paradise

I have to share this picture. Today there was an incident with a heavy duty digging machine being hauled on the H 1 and it collided with a pedestrian bridge over the H-1 freeway, the only link to the west side of the island past pearl harbor. The DOT assesed the damage and deemed all 4 lanes to be closed indef. So now the 10's of thousands of commuters are still on the road tonight (9PM) due to the schizophrenic roadways here on island. Unlike the mainland when a roadway is closed for what ever reason, there arn't really any alternate routes that will take you from point A to point B within a reasonable amount of time or distance. Maybe now the locals will wise up and give that mass transit idea another look. I'm sure they want to lynch that truck driver to boot.
